About the internship
The production team of Sonic Acts is responsible for the practical realisation of all of Sonic Acts annual and biennial activities. As production intern, you will be learning the ropes alongside the experienced producers and their colleagues. The Sonic Acts Biennial will take place in February and March 2026, most of your activities will be geared towards the realisation of this large-scale and exciting programme which includes an exhibition, conference, performance and club nights as well as workshops and other programmes at venues like Paradiso, W139 and other locations.
During your internship, you will be supporting us with the following tasks:
- You will be coordinating the volunteers. This includes recruiting, selecting, contacting, scheduling of volunteers, creating manuals, managing budgets, organising meetings and managing volunteers during events.
- Supporting the (pre)production of live events and online activities: requesting offers, planning, research, location visits, management of guest lists, buying materials and tech.
- Artist handling: researching travel options, making itineraries, accompanying and supporting artists and speakers.
- Planning and coordinating the transportation of artworks and materials.
- Production support on site: artist handling, coordination of catering, guiding visitors, runner, pick-ups, hosting etc.
- Organising meetings, taking minutes and office management.
Requirements
- Ideally, you are a student and doing this internship as part of your studies.
- You write and speak English (Sonic Acts communicates mainly in English), having a written and verbal grasp of Dutch as well is preferred.
- You have an affinity with Sonic Acts and its disciplines (art, music, science and technology).
- You are available in the above-mentioned period: From October until April.
- You are expected to be flexible. Our activities often take place during weekends and/or evenings and your working hours will adjust accordingly.
- You are familiar with both Word and Excel and are able to communicate through Email, Slack, and Zoom.
- You live in Amsterdam or the surrounding area and are willing to travel when you’re expected to be on site or at the office.
- Applicants for this role must have either Dutch citizenship or a valid residency permit/visa that allows them to participate in the internship for its full duration.
We offer:
- An internship from October 2025 until the end of April 2026.

- €350, – gross per month for 4 days per week, in accordance with the guidelines of De Zaak Nu.
