THE POSITION
We are looking for a Product Development & Production Manager to support the growth of KASSL Editions. In this role, you will have significant autonomy and opportunities for professional development. You report to the General Manager. Your key responsibilities will include:
- End-to-End Product Development & Production: oversee the development and production process for outerwear, ready-to-wear, and accessories, from initial concept to final production.
- Fabric, Trim & Lab Dipping Sourcing: Oversee fabric and trim selection, including lab dipping processes to ensure color accuracy and material quality.
- Prototyping & Sample Development: Manage the creation of prototypes and samples, ensuring they meet design specifications, testing standards, and performance requirements. Maintain all necessary documentation and orga- nize fittings.
- Production Planning & Buying: Develop and oversee production schedules, ensuring efficient coordination between suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to meet deadlines.
- Production & Quality Control: Establish and maintain high-quality production standards, conducting regular inspec- tions and ensuring consistency across all products.
- Innovation & Material Development: Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and technologies, integrating innovative solutions into product development.
- Time & Cost Management: Oversee project timelines and budgets, ensuring production runs efficiently and cost-ef- fectively.
- Supplier & Factory Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers, negotiate pricing, and resolve production challenges.
- Sample Tracking & Logistics: Ensure all samples are monitored, documented, and efficiently managed throughout the development and production cycle.
ABOUT KASSL EDITIONS
KASSL Editions was founded in Amsterdam in 2018, as an outerwear brand with a genderless, durable and functional ethos and commitment to radical quality. A counterpoint to an era of excess and overproduction, the brand’s manufacturing operation began in Kassel, the central German city best known for its Documenta contemporary art festival, using the same facilities that supply the German national fire brigade with its near-indestructible outerwear. Seasonal collections have since evolved significantly to encompass bags, accessories and selected homeware.
YOUR PROFILE
- A completed HBO degree in fashion management or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
- Strong commercial awareness and affinity with the brand.
- A solution-oriented mindset to tackle production challenges.
- Energetic, proactive, organised and process-driven.
- The ability to work independently and use out-of-the-box thinking to inspire and negotiate with colleagues and suppliers.
- A hands-on mentality and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.
- A keen eye for detail and a drive to negotiate the best price-quality ratio.
