Kunstinstituut Melly is looking for an intern to learn from and support the Archival team in organizing and maintaining the institution’s archive. This role provides valuable hands-on experience in curating cultural documentation and contributing to an archival exhibition.
We offer an internship for two days per week, with a minimum duration of three consecutive months and a maximum of six consecutive months. The internship starts in April 2025, and an internship allowance is provided.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in cataloging and organizing analog and digital materials, including exhibition documentation and institutional correspondence.
- Conduct research in the archive to support ongoing projects and institutional inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of an exhibition celebrating 35 years of Kunstinstituut Melly, using the institution’s archive as a primary source of inspiration and material.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Art History, Archival and/or Information Science, or a related field;
- Strong interest in contemporary art and archives;
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
- Proficiency in English and/or Dutch; additional languages are a plus;
- Comfortable using Google Sheets and Google Docs, with an interest in learning other programs;– Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team.
